Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules Movie Synopsis and Poster

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES MOVIE SYNOPSIS 1
The film opens with Greg (Zachary Gordon) and his family attending a skating rink for the year's new Seventh Graders. Here he reunites with his best friend Rowley (Robert Capron) and classmates Fregley (Grayson Russell) and Chirag (Karan Brar). Greg then meets Holly Hills (Peyton R. List), who immediately becomes his love interest. Chirag then tells Greg of Holly Hills and says that he (Chirag) googled her. While attempting to skate with Holly, Greg's older brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick) intervenes, ending with their mother (Rachael Harris) speaking to him on the loudspeaker and further humiliating him by getting Greg's father (Steve Zahn) carrying him off the rink. As weeks go by, Greg's mom notices that the boys do not get along, and calls for a family meeting. She gives them a new incentive to get on together by rewarding them with "Mom Bucks", which they can trade in for real money. The boys eagerly accept and compete with each other to earn the Mom Bucks.

After a talent show is advertised on TV, the brothers see this as a big opportunity, Rowley suggesting he and Greg perform magic tricks, whilst Rodrick sees this as his band's big break. Greg and Rowley film Rowley lip-synching "Tik Tok" by Ke$ha and upload it to YouTube, which becomes an online hit, although only for two days.

On Sunday, the Heffley family goes to church. Greg is extremely reluctant to go inside, as a melted 3 Musketeers bar, intentionally placed on his seat by Rodrick, has stained his trousers. Greg's mom uses her blouse to cover up the stain, but the cover-up backfires when the family go to take communion and Rodrick exposes Greg's pants and the boys ultimately end up in a scuffle on the floor.

As punishment the brothers are to spend a weekend together to bond, whilst their parents and youngest brother Manny leave on a pre-planned holiday for the entire family. Against his parents' orders, Rodrick hosts a party at the house and locks Greg up in the basement. Rowley comes to 'save' Greg, but Rodrick locks him up in the basement as well, until a call from their mother ends in Rodrick letting the two out in return for their silence on the matter.

The next day the two get a call from their mom informing them Manny is sick and they're returning early from their vacation. The house is trashed, and the boys only have an hour to clean it up and erase all evidence of the party before their parents arrive home. A door marked with 'Rodrick Rules' in permanent marker leads the brothers to replace it, before realizing it has no lock. Their mother notices it after a while, causing Greg to confess. However, in order to prevent Rodrick from getting angry at him (Rodrick previously had told him to "deny everything"), he says the party was only a band rehearsal, and the two escape punishment. Rodrick, thinking Greg did deny everything, tells Greg he's 'not as half as lame as he thought', and the two brothers become friends. Greg asks Rodrick for advice on Holly Hills, but his attempts fail and embarrass him instead.

The boys, as friends, go out for a night of fun, with their mother's warning to be home at 9. They go for smoothies then prank people by putting fake vomit on their cars. After surprising various people returning to their cars, the two put the fake vomit on one last car only to discover the owner to be Coach Malone (Andrew McNee), Greg's soccer coach. They run off with the coach chasing them. Rodrick willingfully helps Greg by pulling him out of the dumpster. The two run off to the mall with the coach still chasing them, and put their jackets on manaquinns, which he tackles. The two brothers go home, laughing. Greg and Rodrick return home,at 8:55,only to find that their father has inadvertently come across photos of the party. The boys are punished, Greg is grounded for two weeks with no video games, and Rodrick is grounded for a month and is not allowed to participate in the talent show.

The brothers instantly go back to their former relationship and spend the weekend with their grandfather in his retirement home. Whilst there, Greg runs into Holly, who was visiting her grandmother, and it is revealed they have identical families. Holly gives him some advice and the two part, Greg feeling more positive.

Greg then proceeds to write his positive feelings about Holly on his Diary which Rodrick gets ahold of and reads. Rodrick then threatens to tell Holly and runs towards the lobby to do so. Greg, despite being in his underwear, chases after Rodrick and manages to snatch away the diary and runs towards the bathroom and starts ripping out the pages of the diary and flushes them down the toilet. However, he discovers he is in the ladies' room, but manages to evade the angry women who think he is a Peeping Tom. He arrives back in only to find that Rodrick caught everything on tape via security camera and threatens to show it to everyone.

At the talent show a few nights later, Rowley's performance is unable to take place, as his eight-year-old assistant Scotty gets stage fright. Greg's mom says he will do the show with Rowley, but Greg refuses, saying he doesn't want to be embarrassed in front of Holly. Greg notices Rodrick is about to cry because he can't play. Rodrick notices his band members are motioning him to come. Greg follows and witnesses how Rodrick's band members kick him out of the band he created. Greg then bargains with his mom to allow Rodrick to perform, if he will perform with Rowley. Mom accepts the bargain.Greg sees Rodrick thanking his mom, then he sees Gregs and nods at him for letting him play. The Magic show is a hit with the audience and Holly Hills meets Greg backstage whilst other girls are getting Rowley's autograph and tells him she loved their show. Rodrick and his band perform, and sing their song Explöded Diper. The crowd isn't impressed, until they see Greg's mom dancing and dance along. Rodrick gets to perform, Greg's mom is happy and overall, Greg is happy having fixed his problems with his family.

The film ends with Rodrick driving Greg to school. Rodrick tells Greg that it was cool of him to let him play last night. The boys forgive each other, then Rodrick gives Greg the tape back, telling him not to talk about it or he'll put it on YouTube. As Greg arrives at school, Rodrick playfully then calls Greg "doofus" and they both smile at each other. Then Greg says "Later buttbrain" and the two boys create a new friendship by realizing it's fun to have a brother. At the end Rodrick informs Greg that he spilt Juice on the sofa and blamed on him. Greg gets him back by putting the video of him in the talent contest on Youtube and calls it "Lame Band with Crazy Dancing Mom", then Rodrick shouts that he will kill Greg.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES MOVIE SYNOPSIS 2
Greg Heffley is entering seventh grade. Greg and his friend Rowley are "undersized weaklings" in their school, hoping simply to just survive, but Greg starts having trouble at home, especially since his mom, Susan initiates a "swear jar" that complicates matters when she gives all the money in the jar to Manny, Greg's younger brother. Susan also initiates the "Mom Bucks" program. Mom Bucks is a system in which they earn play money by doing extra chores and they can cash it in for real money, each worth one cent (to Greg's dismay), or getting out of doing chores. The program runs into problems when Rodrick takes all of Greg's Mom Bucks to get his poorly written history paper to turn in after the power went out and Greg doesn't know anything about one-hundred years ago. Susan also causes more problems when she bans junk food in the house. Greg tries every attempt to impress his crush on Holly Hills, but sees no change in Holly. Rodrick and Greg have problems throughout the book, including Rodrick and his band, "Löded Diper" throwing a wild party while their parents are away. Greg is forced to use whatever means he can to cover this up to avoid getting in trouble, and fails as one of Rodrick's friends take several photos of the party. Greg has a big secret he refuses to tell until the last moment of the book. The story goes that Greg is at Leisure Towers, his grandpa's senior citizen apartment complex. He's writing in the previous journal and Rodrick grabs it. As Rodrick is running from Greg, he trips on Gutbusters, a board game his grandpa enjoys. Greg flees from the apartment to the bathrooms in the lobby. Grandpa watches the lobby security monitor, he can see everything. Greg enters the ladies room and believes that the ladies made a mistake but he soon realizes he has made a mistake and has a janitor take him out. Rodrick gets angry at Greg and spills his secret. But details are mixed up and people believe he snuck into the girls high school locker room and took photos. So there's your title, "Rodrick Rules"

X-MEN First Class Synopsis Poster

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

At a German concentration camp in occupied Poland during 1944, young Erik Lensherr is separated from his parents by Nazi guards. The child's desperate mind remarkably bends a metal gate until a guard knocks Lensherr unconscious (the same footage that's in the first X-Men movie). Scientist Sebastian Shaw, who has observed this through a window, calls Lensherr up to see him. Placing a metal coin on a desk, he orders Lensherr to use his magnetism power to move it. When Lensherr cannot, despite his best efforts, Shaw shoots and kills Lensher's mother in front of him. In his rage, Lensherr's out-of-control magnetic power kills the two guards and destroys two rooms, to Shaw's delight.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

Around this same time, in Westchester County, New York, mansion, a young Charles Xavier meets a young, shape-shifting girl named Raven, disguised as his mother, who is looking through the fridge for food. Xavier accuses his "mother" of being an imposter, and asks what it has done with his real mother, as she would not make him a sandwich or hot chocolate, at which point, Mystique shifts back to her normal, blue-skinned form. Overjoyed to meet someone else "different" like him, he says she can come live with his family.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

In Switzerland in the movie's present-day of 1962, Lensherr forces a banker (by ripping out one of the metal fillings in his mouth) to trace a bar of Nazi gold to Shaw's address in Argentina. In a tavern there patronized by former German soldiers, Lensherr kills three men as he learns that Shaw has a yacht in Florida. Meanwhile, in England, Oxford University graduate Xavier is publishing his thesis on mutation; his foster sister Raven, a waitress, lives with him. Simultaneously in Las Vegas, Nevada, CIA agent Moira MacTaggart follows U.S. Army Colonel Hendry into the Hellfire Club, where she sees Shaw, Emma Frost, and Azazel. After Shaw threatens Henry, Azazel disappears with the officer; moments later he is in the War Room, advocating that U.S. install nuclear missiles in Turkey.

Shaw meets with Colonel Hendry on his yacht, and refuses to give Hendry his money, at which point Hendry pulls out a grenade and threatens to pull the pin, but Shaw takes the grenade and pulls the pin himself, and absorbs the blast (at which point we now learn that Shaw is a mutant, and absorbs energy, which also keeps him young), then taps Hendry, expelling the grenade's energy into the Colonel, blowing him up.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

MacTaggart seeks Xaviers advice on mutation, and takes Xavier and Raven to the CIA to convince the chief that Shaw is a threat. After convincing them that mutants exist they are to be taken to a covert facility, but first Xavier tracks down Shaw. Lensherr attacks Shaw, and when Shaw escapes in his submarine Lensherr tries to stop him, but Xavier stops him so that he does not drown. Lensherr joins Xavier and Raven at the CIA facility, where they meet Hank McCoy, another mutant that Xavier accidentally outs. McCoy and Xavier use a prototype Cerebro to locate mutants and recruit several of them to train to stop Shaw. Upon the recruiting process, we also see Xavier and Lensherr walk up to Hugh Jackman in a bar and introduce themselves. Jackman tells them to go to hell, and they walk off.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

Shaw plans to meet with a Russian general, but sends Frost instead, who is then captured by Xavier and Lensherr. The facility is attacked by Azazel, Riptide and Shaw, with all the guards being killed. Shaw recruits Angel and kills Darwin by forcing him to ingest a massive amount of energy. When Lensherr and Xavier return they begin to train the mutants, though Raven is conflicted about hiding her natural form.

President Kennedy institutes a blockade. Shaw travels with the Russian fleet to ensure that the missiles get to Cuba. Xavier, MacTaggart and Lensherr fly to the blockade to stop the fleets from engaging. Shaw uses a nuclear core to charge himself up and a helmet to block Xaviers telepathy. While Azazel kills the crew of the Russian missile ship, Xavier uses his powers to make a Russian ship destroy the missile ship before it crosses the line.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

Lensherr pulls Shaws submarine from the water, but an attack forces the jet and submarine to crash. Lensherr finds Shaw and removes his helmet and Xavier takes control of Shaw. Lensherr puts on the helmet, then kills him by slowly forcing the coin that Shaw taunted him with through his brain.

The two fleets fire their missiles at the mutants, but Lensherr, now fully in control of his abilities, holds the missiles in the air, then turns them on the fleet. In the ensuing fight Xavier manages to distract Lensherr, but when MacTaggart fires at Lensherr he deflects the bullets, with one paralyzing Xavier.

Lensherr takes Raven, Angel Salvadore, Riptide and Azazel and leaves. Xavier, now confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, and the mutants return to the mansion, where he will open a school. He wipes MacTaggart's memory, and Lensherr breaks Frost out of the CIA headquarters, and in his new uniform he tells Frost to call him Magneto.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS SYNOPSIS AND MOVIE POSTER

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-MEN.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS CHARACTERS - PROFESSOR X / Professor Charles Xavier
James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier / Professor X : The telepathic leader and founder of the X-Men and one of Magneto's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams. McAvoy admitted that he did not read comics when he was a kid, but added that he was a fan of the cartoons from the age of 10. While he describes the older Charles Xavier as "a monk... a selfless, egoless almost sexless force for the betterment of humanity and mortality," he says that the younger Xavier is a very different person, "It's quite fun because the complete opposite of that is an ego-fueled, sexed up self-serving dude. And not going too far with it, but he's definitely got an ego and he's definitely got a sex drive as well." McAvoy admitted he felt that there was a comparison between Professor X/Magneto and Martin Luther King Jr./Malcom X stating, "A lot of the time... in the comic books, Erik comes and goes; he goes back and forward really in what he believes and how he is going to achieve it. And in this film it's sort of like meeting them at a point where they are still finding out who they are and you are still seeing some of the events that shaped them, not through their early life, but some of the key events in the sort of equal rights or civil rights struggle that helped shape them." Laurence Belcher as Charles Xavier (12 Years Old)

X-MEN FIRST CLASS CHARACTERS - MAGNETO / Erik Lehnsherr
Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto: The leader and founder of the Brotherhood of Mutants and one of Professor X's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams. Fassbender said that Matthew Vaughn saw him in an audition for one of his other films and just thought that he would be right for this film. After Fassbender read the script, he said he liked it and then he tried to convince the producers that he was right for the part. When reading Magneto's history (he admitted that he did not know that much about the X-Men) he said to himself that he thought the story was going to be really interesting work. When asked if he was a good guy or bad guy at this point he said that he doesn't really think in those terms. He saw Erik as a Machiavellian character. Fassbender also admitted to watching Ian McKellen's performances to get a flavor of what Magneto was like (while also stating that he liked it) but decided to "paint a new canvas" of the character, stating, "So I did my homework and preparation and you want to respect what someone else has done, especially because the fan base really liked what Ian McKellen has done with it. But while I could have gone and studied him as a young man and brought that to the performance, I don't think Matthew is very interested in that. So I'm just going my own way and working with whatever is in the comic books and the script." Bill Milner as Young Erik Lehnsherr

X-MEN FIRST CLASS CHARACTER - CIA AGENT
Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert: A CIA agent and love interest of Charles Xavier.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS CHARACTERS - BEAST MEET MYSTIQUE
Nicholas Hoult as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast: A former scientist and political activist who transformed into a frightening looking mutant in an attempt to cure himself, but is kind at heart. Broadway actor Benjamin Walker was previously cast as Beast. He turned down the role to star in the Broadway musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.

Jennifer Lawrence as Raven / Mystique: A shape-shifting mutant and Charles Xavier's childhood friend. Morgan Lily as Young Raven (10 years old).

X-MEN FIRST CLASS CHARACTERS - MAIN VILLAINS
Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw: A scientist and the leader of the Hellfire Club, a secret society bent on taking over the world. Shaw is a mutant who can absorb kinetic and radiated energy and redirect it.

January Jones as Emma Frost / White Queen: A telepath who can also change her body into diamond form; also a member of the Hellfire Club. Alice Eve was originally announced to play Emma Frost.

A wicked witch (Joan Cusack) has abducted two innocent children, Hansel (Bill Hader) and Gretel (Amy Poehler), and Nicky needs Red for the search-and-rescue mission. While Wolf and Red try to put their differences aside to work together, a secret Sisters of the Hood recipe for a magic truffle falls into the wrong hands and bestows almost unlimited power on the story's greedy villains, who want to sell the truffles to their fellow criminals.
