KUCHING: Maxis Bhd akan melabur RM122mil di Sarawak dan Sabah dalam tempoh enam bulan akan datang untuk 4G dan dipertingkatkan program penyambungan luar bandar.

Bersepadu terkemuka negara com-unikasi dan pembekal perkhidmatan dengan kira-kira 14 juta langganan telah melabur RM297mil untuk menaik taraf 2G dan rangkaian 3G di Sarawak dan Sabah dalam tempoh tiga tahun yang lalu.

Maxis bersama ketua pegawai operasi Mark DioGuardi berkata menaik taraf semua laman 3G yang sedia ada adalah untuk menyediakan pengalaman internet yang lebih cepat jalur lebar dan mudah alih.

Beliau berkata perbelanjaan modal (capex) adalah untuk membiayai penempatan 355 Nano dan laman Femto, 352 3G laman dipertingkatkan dan 100 kampung tanpa wayar (KTW) laman WiFi di dalam kedua-dua Sarawak dan Sabah.

Maxis adalah syarikat telekomunikasi pertama di Malaysia untuk menggunakan femtocell, stesen pangkalan selular kecil, berkuasa rendah, biasanya direka untuk kegunaan di rumah atau perniagaan kecil.

NanoBTS dan femto teknologi dijalankan pada kuasa solar untuk berkhidmat perladangan, ladang, kayu dan pekan perlombongan dengan tiada bekalan elektrik.

Projek KTW menyediakan jalur lebar dan internet untuk masyarakat luar bandar yang bertujuan untuk merapatkan jurang digital antara penduduk bandar dan luar bandar.

Maxis telah menjadi peneraju dalam menggerakkan teknologi canggih di Sarawak dan Sabah untuk melanjutkan liputan kepada jauh dan sukar untuk sampai ke kawasan-kawasan, memanfaatkan satelit Measat 5 untuk menyambung masyarakat luar bandar.

To-date, telco telah siap 42 luar femto, 11 3G NanoBTS laman dan 69 KTW Wifi laman.

DioGuardi berkata bilangan Maxis 2G dan tapak 3G di Sarawak telah meningkat kepada 624 dan 346 dari 460 dan 105 masing-masing pada tahun 2009.

Perkhidmatan 2G yang kini menyediakan liputan kepada 76% daripada penduduk Sarawak manakala ia adalah penduduk 54% liputan perkhidmatan 3G.

Semua laman 3G kini diaktifkan dengan kelajuan tinggi akses paket + (HSPA) yang menyokong kelajuan rangkaian sehingga 21Mbps manakala 40% daripada tapak 3G mempunyai HSPA + pembawa dua yang menyokong kelajuan rangkaian sehingga 42Mbps.

"Evolusi jangka panjang (LTE) atau perkhidmatan 4G akan datang ke Sarawak dan Sabah tahun depan dengan pengaktifan laman LTE di Kuching dan Kota Kinabalu," katanya semasa majlis makan tengah hari media di Four Points by Sheraton Hotel di sini, semalam.

Beliau berkata Maxis telekomunikasi pertama di negara ini untuk melengkapkan ujian bidang yang meluas LTE. Perkhidmatan 4G yang akan dilaksanakan di kawasan-kawasan terpilih di Lembah Klang dalam pertama suku 2013 sebelum ia diperluaskan kepada bahagian-bahagian lain di negara ini.

Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd adalah antara lapan syarikat yang dibenarkan akses oleh Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) untuk jalur 2600 MHz spektrum yang membolehkan pengguna telefon bimbit untuk menikmati perkhidmatan LTE atau 4G dengan kelajuan jalur lebar di melebihi 100Mbps.

DioGuardi berkata Maxis kini dikendalikan lapan pusat jalur lebar komuniti (CBS) di Sarawak (daripada sebanyak 10 di seluruh negara) yang menyediakan asas latihan teknologi maklumat kepada penduduk kampung di dalam kawasan berkenaan.

Sehingga kini, kira-kira 200,000 pengguna di kawasan pedalaman disambungkan melalui telefon dan internet. Satu lagi CBC 6 akan datang pada aliran bulan ini.

PELANGGAN Muslim penyedia perkhidmatan telekomunikasi bersepadu, Maxis Berhad (Maxis) kini boleh membayar zakat menggunakan khidmat pesanan ringkas (SMS) di beberapa negeri terpilih iaitu Selangor, Melaka, Sabah, Kedah, Perlis, Pahang dan Terengganu.

Perkhidmatan yang dikenali mZakat Maxis itu wujud selepas syarikat itu dilantik menjadi ejen kutipan zakat fitrah bagi negeri berkenaan.


Dengan mZakat Maxis, pelanggan Muslim Maxis kini boleh memenuhi tuntutan agama supaya membayar zakat fitrah yang menjadi kewajipan pada setiap bulan Ramadan.

Naib Presiden Kanan Perkhidmatan Perniagaan Maxis, Fitri Abdullah berkata, mZakat Maxis terbuka kepada pelanggan prabayar atau pascabayar dan jumlahnya akan dicaj ke dalam bil telefon atau ditolak terus daripada baki kredit akaun prabayar mereka.


“Kemudahan tambahan ini membolehkan pelanggan memenuhi tuntutan agama. Ini adalah suatu penyelesaian yang berkesan kepada masalah kekurangan masa untuk ke kaunter pungutan zakat atau mungkin juga bagi mereka yang biasanya menunggu saat akhir untuk menunaikan kewajipan itu.


“Ia juga sangat berguna kepada orang kelainan upaya (OKU) yang tidak perlu bergegas ke kaunter zakat, malah proses transaksi pembayaran mengambil masa kurang lima minit,” katanya dalam kenyataan di Kuala Lumpur, semalam.

Pelanggan boleh membuat bayaran dengan hanya menaip mesej FITRAH (nama negeri) dan hantar ke 22032. Pelanggan kemudian perlu memberikan maklumat terperinci seperti nama, nombor kad pengenalan dan bilangan orang yang hendak dibayar zakat fitrahnya.

HOW TO EARN REWARDS POINTS

Question:
How can I earn rewards points?

Answer:
Enjoy 3x more Rewards Points until 31 December 2008. All you have to do is stay with Hotlink and do a single transaction top up of RM30 and above.
Your stay with Hotlink Points earned for every RM1 top-up
Less than 1 year 2 points
1 year to less than 3 years 2.5 points (25% more)
3 years and above 3 points (50% more)

Your points are automatically updated in your account by the 7th day of every following month. An SMS notification will be sent to you once the points have been credited. Points earned can be used to redeem airtime, SMS bundles and other exciting rewards.

What is the maximum amount of rewards points I can earn?

Answer:
There is no limit. The more you top up and the longer your length of stay with Hotlink, the more points you will earn.

What will happen to my rewards points if I terminate my Hotlink account?

Answer:
All unredeemed points will automatically be forfeited when your Hotlink account is terminated. You will not be refunded for these points.

No. Rewards points are non-transferable.

I have recently activated a new Hotlink Starter Pack. Am I entitled to rewards points too?

Answer:
Yes, you can start accumulating rewards points based on a total of RM30 or more monthly top up to your Hotlink account.

Will I lose my rewards points when I am deactive?

Answer:
You will not lose unredeemed rewards points when you are deactive. However, you must be active to redeem the rewards. If your account is terminated, your Hotlink points will also be forfeited without any refund.

HOW TO CHECK REWARDS POINTS BALANCE

Will I be charged if I use Easy Menu (*100#) service to check my points balance?

Answer:
No, you will not be charged.

How can I check my points balance?

Answer:
There are two ways to check your points balance: Easy Menu (*100#) - Type *100# and press send/call. Select “My Account”, select “Rewards” and press 1 to check your points balance. Hotlink Website (www.hotlink.com.my) - Register your phone number and password at the Hotlink website. Each time you log-in you will be able to view your latest updated points balance.
Please note that your points are updated within 5 days of every following month.

Please note that you must be active to redeem rewards, and to use your redeemed airtime and SMS.

If I redeem airtime/SMS will I increase my lifecycle?

Answer:
No. The airtime/SMS that you redeem using your rewards points will not increase your lifecycle. Airtime redeemed will expire at the same time as any remaining credit you have in your Hotlink account. SMS redeemed has no expiry.

What happens to my redeemed airtime/SMS when I am deactive?

Answer:
Once you are deactive you have 90 days to top-up your account before your credit balance is forfeited. If you top-up within 90 days, you will not lose your redeemed airtime and SMS.
If you DO NOT top up within 90 days, your existing credit, including all airtime and SMS redeemed will be forfeited.
Question:
Can I use my redeemed SMS when roaming?

Answer:
Redeemed SMS is only valid when used in Malaysia. If you make calls and send SMS while roaming, you will be charged in accordance with existing roaming charges.

Can I make redemptions when I am deactive?

Answer:
No. You must be active to make redemptions.

Question:
Can I make multiple redemption requests?

Answer:
You can only make one redemption request at a time. Once you have submitted a redemption request, please wait for a notification that your request has been successfully processed before you submit another redemption request.

I have requested a redemption but have not received my rewards. Why?

Answer:
Most likely, your request is in a queue. The redemption process can take up to 24 hours. You will receive an SMS confirmation once your request has been processed.

Can I make changes once I have requested a redemption?

No. Once the redemption request has been acknowledged, your rewards points will be deducted and no reversals or changes will be allowed.

Kisah Pada Waktu Tengah Hari

Ini pula kisah pada waktu tengah hari. Aku pergi ke sebuah pusat untuk menambah nilai telefon bimbit aku secara terus menerusi talian telefon. Dapat. Kemudian aku menghubungi nombor 1 300 820 120 untuk bercakap dengan staf Maxis. Segala-galanya akan selesai dalam masa 20 minit.

Sebelum ini, aku ada menghantar e-mel ke Maxis menerusi laman web Maxis. Kira-kira 4 jam selepas itu, aku mendapat panggilan daripada staf Maxis. Cepat juga. Aku memberitahu staf wanita itu bahawa aku telah pun mengambil langkah awal.

Rupa-rupanya pihak Maxis bertindak agak cepat juga. Terima, kasih Maxis. Nampaknya sistem aduan di laman web Maxis berkesan juga.
