Windows 8 Font are thicker than Vista even with anti aliasing
Problem: I purchased Windows 8 Professional at deduced price on the basis of Vista Home Basic owned previously. However after installing Windows 8 I noticed that the fonts are thicker and less clear (some time ugly). Even after adjusting anti aliasing it made no difference. Microsoft Office documents and Internet Explorer 10 contents are also affected (same true for PDF files). Do you have any tips to make them as sharp as Vista ones.
Solution: Check to see if you have ClearType turned on:
- Press the Windows key + C to access the Charms bar
- Select Control Panel
- Select Fonts
- Select Adjust Clear Type text - If needed, select Turn on ClearType
- Select Next and select the options that you prefer.
Problem should be solved by now.
